Live Event Coverage
As the fog filled the arena, the bright lights
instantaneously faded to dark. Fans were in an absolute frenzy, endlessly
clapping and cheering as the team took the floor. The energy and excitement
persuaded everyone to rise to their feet. Gauging from the levels of noise, the
undoubtedly talented, world famous Harlem Globetrotters were in the building.
On March 27, inside the Pine Belt arena, located in Toms
River N.J., locals and visitors filled the jammed packed sold out arena for one
reason, the historically Harlem Globetrotters spectacular show. This was an
event for all ages. Judging from the crowd participation, you did not have to
be a basketball fan to enjoy yourself. From the beginning to the end, the show
was loaded with amazing choreography, trick shots, rim-rattling dunks,
electrifying ball handling and humorous audience participation. For more than
91 years, The Harlem Globetrotters have imprinted on fans of all ages and walks
of life, Last night was no exception.
The star-studded roster consisted of, Moose, Zeus, Big Easy
Lofton, Ant Atkinson, Drizzy, Bruton, Big Easy, Firefly, Bull Bullard and Jet –
plus female stars Swish and Ace Jackson. There were countless highlights for
example; Ant Showman took a women's purse and ran all the way to the top of the
bleachers. In addition, after a disagreement over a foul, Zeus and Moose
splashed buckets of water on the audience, while attempting to wet one another.
The opposing team unleashed their secret weapon, Paul (Tiny)Sturges whom is
seven foot eight inches tall. This giant had the kids speechless, some even
appeared frightened, clinching onto their laughing parents. Standing eye level
with the basketball goal, made it effortless for Tiny to score. Tiny towered
over the Globetrotters like a giant cat to a mouse. The kids let off several
boos in fear of The Harlem Globetrotters loosing. Surprisingly, they snagged
another win, however not before the team’s mascot Big G stole the entire
audience. His halftime performance was simply amazing and seemed to be the
audience favorite part of the show, based on the repeated chuckles and kids
falling to the floor with laughter. Everyone should make time to catch the
